Supported Decision-Making in Delaware – A Speaking Series

Supported Decision-Making (SDM) is an alternative to guardianship that allows people with disabilities to get the help they may need to make choices about their life. Join Dr. Jonathan Martinis for a three-part Supported Decision-Making Speaking Series. Attendees are welcome to join for one or multiple sessions.

Session 1: Supported Decision-Making: From Justice for Jenny to Justice for All
• An introduction to the theory and practice of Supported Decision-Making (SDM)
• Tuesday, April 25th, from 12:00-1:00 pm

Session 2: Education, Employment, and Independent Living: Supported Decision-Making in Special Education and Vocational Rehabilitation
• Strategies for maximizing the supports and services available in Special Education and Vocational Rehabilitation programs
• Tuesday, May 2nd, from 12:00-1:00pm

Session 3: Taking Care, Taking the Lead: Supported Decision-Making in Health Care and Life Planning
• Strategies and practical tips for maximizing independent living supports to help people lead their healthiest, best, and most independent lives
• Tuesday, May 9th from 12:00-1:00 pm
